Introduction - Need for organizing Tests within Projects

As a part of Business Requirement, we often might have to work on Testing a multiple number of Projects simultaneously. Managing multiple projects can be tiresome if they are not organized well. Testsigma helps you in this regard by providing extended Project Management capabilities that helps you manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimum effort.

After going through the hierarchy that Testsigma follows for a project, you can continue creating the project as given below in the Create Project section.


Create Project

When we activate and log into our Testsigma account for the first time, two sample Projects named Testsigma Examples and Testsigma Advanced Examples will be automatically created for us. You can explore them for sample Test Cases. Let us create a new Project now.


1. Firstly, click on the Project name on top left corner near the Testsigma logo. You will see a list of available projects along with the Create Project button at the bottom of the list.


2. Now, click on the Create Project button to open the Create Project overlay page. The Create Project page looks as given below:




3. Enter the details as mentioned below:

Name (Required): Enter a name for the project that needs to be created.


Description: Enter a meaningful description for this project.


Custom Fields: Select from the list if you want to include a Custom Field in the Project.

Enable Multiple Applications: You may check the first checkbox(Multiple Applications) if you have multiple Application Types (Web, Mobile, API) to be tested under the same Project.


Enable Multiple Versions: Also, you may check the second checkbox(Multiple Versions) if you have multiple Application Versions to be tested under the same Project.


Application Details:

Application Name (Required): Enter the name of the application that is to be tested. This is a required field since every project requires at least one application in it.


Application Type (Required):Select the type of the application(Web or Mobile) or Web Service that is to be tested.


Version name (Required): Enter the version of the application that is to be tested.


4. Enter the details for your application and click on the Create button. You will see a notification for successful project creation and will be taken to 'All Test Cases' page.


Edit Project

First of all, click on the Project Name on the top left corner near Testsigma Logo. This will take you to the Projects List.

Select the Project and navigate to Project details page as follows:

Project Settings > Project details


1. Click on the Edit button on the top right corner to edit the current Project. The Edit Project page would appear.
2. Edit the required fields and click on Update button to confirm the changes.


You will get a notification on successful update and you will be taken to the Project Details page. You can verify the changes there and make more modifications if necessary.


Delete Project

First of all, click on the Project Name on the top left corner near Testsigma Logo. This will take you to the Projects List.

Select the Project and navigate to Project details page as follows:

Project Settings > Project details


1. Click on Delete on the top right corner to delete the current Project. The Confirm Delete Dialog would appear.

2. Select the checkbox and click on Delete button to confirm the deletion.


You will get a notification for successful deletion and you will be taken to the Dashboard page.
